The perfect series for kids who loved THE LEMONADE WAR series and are ready for more mysteries!

"With wit, cunning, snappy dialogue and superior math skills, The Red Blazer Girls represent the best of girl-detectives while still feeling relatable and real. Nancy Drew would be right at home with this group." — Huffington Post's 15 Greatest Kid Detectives List
When there are mysteries to be solved, the Red Blazer Girls are on the case! The discovery of the Ring of Rocamadour has secured the girls' reputation as Upper East Side super-sleuths, bringing many sundry job requests (no mystery too small, right?) and some unwanted attention from crooks. This time the girls must follow a trail of cryptic clues, involving everything from logic to literature, to trace a rare violin gone missing. But nothing is as it appears, and just as a solution seems imminent, the girls find themselves scrambling to save the man who was once their prime suspect.

Bowstrings and betrayal, crushes and codes abound in this suspenseful companion to the Red Blazer Girls' 2009 debut. Michael Beil, a New York City high school English teacher and life-long mystery fan, delivers a middle-grade caper that's perfect for middle-grade readers who have finished THE LEMONADE WAR series and are ready for more advanced mysteries!

The four Red Blazer Girls from New York City return with another series of mysteries to solve. Tai Ricci portrays the girls as witty and clever as they investigate a violin theft from their friend's repair shop and research the origin of another valuable instrument. Their wealthy benefactress, Elizabeth Harriman, provides grandiose advice in a cultured voice that suggests old money. Ricci has some trouble with dialogue. Without distinct voices for the girls, it's often difficult to figure out who's speaking. The book's puzzles may also confuse listeners as they're hard to visualize without the accompanying text. However, Ricci presents a lively mystery steeped in the ambiance of New York City. Her humor will keep listeners on board despite the drawbacks. C.A. (c) AudioFile 2010, Portland, Maine

Tai Ricci is terrific as Sophie, a New York City teen who, along with three girlfriends, unravels a long-forgotten scavenger hunt to find the legendary ring of Rocamadour, which is reputed to grant wishes. Donning the red blazer of their school uniform, the girls work together to decipher word puzzles and geometry equations, which lead them to their goal. Ricci provides a variety of strong voices for the many supporting characters. Her pitch and even pacing make it easy to keep up with the funny dialogue and follow the sometimes-confusing clues in this mystery adventure. The puzzles, written out in the print book, translate fairly well to the spoken word, but listeners may still want to check the print version to see them. L.A.C. (c) AudioFile 2009, Portland, Maine
