A GOOD MORNING AMERICA BUZZ PICK
"The most festive book you'll read this year."—Carley Fortune, #1 New York Times bestselling author of Every Summer After

Three times the holiday magic. Three times the chaos.
As strangers and seatmates Maryam Aziz and Anna Gibson fly to Toronto over the holidays—Maryam to her sister’s impromptu wedding, and Anna to meet her boyfriend’s wealthy family for the first time—neither expect that severe turbulence will scare them into confessing their deepest hopes and fears to one another. At least they’ll never see each other again. And the love of Maryam’s life, Saif, wasn’t sitting two rows behind them hearing it all. Oops.
An emergency landing finds Anna, Saif, Maryam, and her sister’s entire bridal party snowbound at the quirky Snow Falls Inn in a picture-perfect town, where fate has Anna’s actor-crush filming a holiday romance. As Maryam finds the courage to open her heart to Saif, and Anna feels the magic of being snowbound with an unexpected new love—both women soon realize there’s no place they’d rather be for the holidays.

Jalaluddin (Ayesha at Last) and Stapley (Lucky) join forces for a holiday romance with charm to spare. The self-explanatory title lets readers know exactly what they’ll get, but a few twists along the way season the story nicely. On the surface, Maryam Aziz and Anna Gibson don’t have much in common, but when they’re seated together on a plane to Toronto in the middle of a “snowmageddon,” the turbulent flight and subsequent emergency landing in the festive village of Snow Falls, Ontario, leave the pair deeply bonded. Stranded in a winter wonderland as the town prepares for the upcoming Christmas, Ramadan, and Hanukkah holidays, both women find pathways to happiness. Maryam learns that her lifelong crush, Saif Rasool, happened to be on the same flight and has finally noticed her, while Anna is torn between a life with her boyfriend and the handsome, mysterious actor Josh Tannenbaum, who’s in town filming a holiday movie. Proving that “holiday miracles can happen anywhere, to anyone, no matter what they celebrate,” the authors deliver heartfelt romance and plenty of cheer while also tackling heavier issues, including the weight of immigrant parents’ expectations and grief. It’s a keeper. Agents: (for Jalaluddin) Ann Collette, Rees Literary; (for Stapley) Samantha Haywood, Transatlantic.

Seatmates on a flight headed for Toronto, Maryam Aziz and Anna Gibson weren't expecting to make a lasting connection. Then a blizzard hits, forcing an emergency landing that leaves Maryam, her crush Saif, her family, and Anna stranded in Snow Falls, Ontario, for the holidays. With Christmas, Ramadan, and Hanukkah falling so closely together, there is much magic in the air as Maryam opens up to Saif, and Anna falls in love with the lead actor of a holiday movie being filmed in the town. Jalaluddin (Much Ado About Nada) and Stapley (Lucky) have taken a classic holiday romance and expanded it to encompass multiple faiths and cultures. Narrator Ulka Simone Mohanty provides vibrant performances for the many characters, from straitlaced Anna and heartthrob Chase Taylor to the members of Maryam's family and Saif. This sweet holiday romance brings together the various components of Islam, Judaism, and Christianity to show the true meaning of the holiday season. VERDICT An outstanding addition to any holiday romance collection, perfect for fans of Jean Meltzer's The Matzah Ball or Jaqueline Snowe's Snowed in for Christmas.--Elyssa Everling
