      Set during WWII, this Cavendon Hall novel is a perfect blend of romance, historical detail, and intrigue. Narrator Anne Bentinck's pace encourages listeners to take a break from contemporary life and enter the world of the Inghams and the Swanns, a slower, if not less complicated, time. Bentinck narrates with a British accent, providing unique voices for the characters that cross paths with the residents of Cavendon Hall. However, her female voices are more varied than her voices for the male characters. As the story moves to Hitler's Berlin and to America, Bentinck employs German-accented English and even an American accent for the actor Clark Gable.
